I grew up and have lived in the NW subs of Philadelphia all my life. I am a veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam War. I fell in love with trains at a very early age and got into model railroading in 1958. My favorite railroad is the East Broad Top with a natural tendency to love the Pennsy since the two interchanged at Mt Union. My son Darryl is quite an accomplished photographer in his own right with hundreds of pictures published on the internet as well as in Railpace Magazine. I shoot both photos and video and Darryl and I spend a long weekend every fall out on the west slope. In 1967 and 1968 I attended the Altoona campus of PSU. I am married happily married to my wife Dorothea for over 42 years and we have our son, Darryl and a daughter Kelly, both PSU grads with one grandaughter and four grandsons, two of which are fraternal twins.
